Bath: Your dog's coat texture and skin condition is evaluated and the proper products are applied. We spend extra time bathing all dogs twice to ensure that he is as clean as possible - optimum results are achieved with the foundation of a properly prepared, sparkling coat. He then receives a warm hydro-therapy massaging bath, followed by a soak in a moisturizing or de-shedding conditioner. Medicated baths, nominal flea removal, and conditioners are always included free of charge unless you opt for an additional therapeutic spa treatment.
Blow Dry: The bath is followed up by a blow dry with a high velocity dryer that provides a warm massage while removing excess dander and blasting dead hair from the coat. Each dog is hand fluff dried for superior results.
Nails: Nails are clipped back to bring them to the correct length. Your dog's nails should never curl under, or cause the toes to splay out. Overgrown nails must be gradually cut back over a period of time to help the vein slowly recede.
Ears: Ears are cleaned and excess dead hair is removed or trimmed from the canal of long haired dogs. Please let us know in advance if your pet is being treated for an ear problem.
Pads: The hair that grows between your dog's toes, and on the bottom of his feet is removed to avoid painful matting, improve traction, and to reduce the amount of dirt tracked into your home. (for medium to long haired dogs with pad hair growth)
Sanitary Clip: Long hair around the sanitary area on the belly, under the tail, and in between the rear legs is carefully removed to prevent urine and feces from adhering to the coat causing health problems and indoor dirt. (for medium to long haired dogs with hair growth in these areas)
Brush-Out and Undercoat Removal: Your dog's coat is brushed free of tangles. Heavy coated breeds such as Collies, Labs, Shepherds, and Huskies have their dead undercoat removed. These dogs usually blow their coat a few times a year; this undercoat must be removed to keep the skin and coat healthy. It is wise to keep these dogs on a very regular grooming schedule to keep up with extreme shedding cycles. We also offer a Furminator Shed-Less treatment that can pull dramatic amounts of dead hair from the coat and drastically cut down on indoor shedding.
Hair-cut/Style: Your dog's coat is styled and hand scissored according to his AKC breed standard pattern or your own custom design. I can also help you chose an alternative or creative style for your mixed dog. (for medium to long haired dogs with longer hair growth)
Finishing Touches: Bandannas, bows and cologne.
